For your daily awesome.

Raw. Complex, yet simple.

They are definitely my favourite band of the first quarter of 2011, and hopefully will continue to be. I figured it was time for a tribute to them; “The Black Keys”. I love the raw guitar sounds, the complex drums and the simple sound it has combined with the raspy voice of Dan Auerbach. There’s only two guys in this band and they do a wonderful job. Their latest album “Brothers” came in pretty hard, but for the real stuff you gotta go back some years to their debut in 2002 on the “The Big Come Up” album. I give you the first (and best) track of that album: “Busted”.

Even after all this time, the sun never says to the earth, “You owe me”.
Look what happens with a love like that, it lights the whole sky.

iPods, iPods, iPods!

Gee, Apple has done it again! Just when you think they couldn’t have surprised us any more, they gave us iTunes 10 with the new social networking ‘Ping’, but, more importantly, they gave us three new iPods! Three shining new beauties!

First off, the most awesome iPod nano there’s ever been: a nano with a touchscreen! Steve Jobs (Apple CEO) said the only way to make it smaller would be by eliminating the clickwheel, and controls would be touch-based. With -yup, you guessed it- multi-touch! It’s really small, too, and they added a clip. Check the pictures I supplied you guys with.

Then, the iPod shuffle. People like the fact it’s small, it shuffles and that it’s got voice-over. But Apple should’ve let the buttons on, as they experienced negative comments on the last shuffling mp3 player. So they added voice-over and buttons and made it éven smaller than the 2nd gen iPod shuffle. They redid the clip.

Last but not least; iPod touch, thé most popular iPod so far. The ‘iPhone without the phone’, the ‘iPhone without the contract’. Call it what you want, it’s here again and it’s even thinner! Just look at the picture! It’s now got a rear camera to let you film in HD and you can edit your own movies plus buy the iMovies app. But more importantly; there is a front camera, for use with FaceTime! FaceTime over Wi-Fi, and not only with iPods, there will be FaceTime from and to iPods ánd iPhones!

These babies will start shipping next week, together with the (free) download of iOS 4.1 , wich fixes the slow performance bugs for iPhone 3G users, and tackles security problems plus kills the proximity sensor problem for iPhone’rs.

Ofcourse, check it all out at Apple HQ.
